‘Women Who Travel’ Live Podcast: Los Angeles, Here We Come – Condé Nast Traveler

Women Who Travel is our space for self-identifying women to share their travel stories, offer advice, and form a community of like-minded travelers. Once a month, we hit the road to bring our community members—a collection of our Women Who Travel podcast listeners, Facebook group members, readers, newsletter subscribers, and travelers—together, IRL. Welcome to the Women Who Travel meetup series!

Over the past year, Women Who Travel has hosted meetups all over the U.S.—from Denver to Nashville—and a few months ago, we decided to bring our ‘Women Who Travel’ podcast along for the ride. With two live recordings already under our belts, we’ve chatted to the chefs transforming the D.C. restaurant scene, and sat down with Liz Lambert in Austin to find out how she designed her dream hotels. Our next stop? Los Angeles!

Booking a trip to L.A. has always been an easy sell thanks to nearly 300 days of annual sunshine, rugged beaches like El Matador State Beach and Point Dume State Beach, and accessible hikes that span mountain trails, coastal walks, and urban sculpture parks. (Not to mention all that gloss and glamour.) But with a newly revitalized DTLA, a slew of hotel openings (hello, Firehouse Hotel ) and a food scene that unequivocally nails both high (Ludo Lefebvre’s Trois Mec ) and low (no-frill’s Tito’s Tacos) dining, there’s now even more to love. Plus, when we heard our Women Who Travel community has a strong faction in Southern California, we figured it was time to head west and meet those of you who call it home.

Come join us on Friday, May 17, to talk all things travel—and celebrate the women owning the industry right now. The event will be hosted by Condé Nast Traveler editors Megan Spurrell, Meredith Carey, and Lale Arikoglu, and is open to anyone who self-identifies as a woman. We’ll start things off with a live recording of the ‘Women Who Travel’ podcast, featuring hosts Meredith and Lale in conversation with Ace Hotel Group’s chief brand officer and partner, Kelly Sawdon, who is responsible for masterminding that oh-so-cool Ace Hotel aesthetic we’ve all come to know and love. Then, we’ll swap the microphones for cocktails, and spend the next hour mingling. Come ready to exchange stories, and leave with ideas for your next trip (and maybe a future travel buddy or two).
