All things considered, Arkansas football in solid shape entering 2017 – SECcountry.com

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast with Jason Kersey, Trent Shadid and Eric Bolin. Today, the guys assess the overall state of the Arkansas football program entering 2017 spring practices.

SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.

Here is a quick rundown on some of the topics we discussed on this, the 123rd episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast:

The state of the football program

We start out this episode and spend the bulk of our time assessing the overall state of the Arkansas football program entering 2017 spring practices. Where do the Razorbacks stack up with the rest of the SEC in terms of on-field performance, recruiting, facilities and player development?

All things considered, the Hogs are in pretty solid shape overall, even considering the disastrous end to last season.

4-star RB high on the Hogs

After that discussion, we shift into some football recruiting talk. Trent breaks down the Hogs’ chances with 4-star Carthage (Texas) running back Keaontay Ingram, and we play some audio from Trent’s recent interview with him.

Baseball team blasts ULM, then gets bad news

The Arkansas baseball team rolled past Louisiana-Monroe 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon, improving to 9-3 overall and 7-0 at home this season. But after the game, we learned that the Hogs likely lost two pitchers for the season.

Eric gives us his overall take on the Razorbacks baseball team at this point. SEC play begins in just 10 days.

Men’s, women’s hoops teams in different places

We wrap up this episode with a brief discussion about the men’s basketball team, which begins SEC Tournament play on Friday, and the resignation of women’s hoops coach Jimmy Dykes.
