Fans who thought Katy Perry‘s YouTube stream was going to be a look into the normal life of a pop super star may have gotten even more than they were hoping for.

While live streaming her life for the entire weekend as part of the release of her brand new album, Witness, the singer proved that there’s rarely a dull moment in her life. When she’s not getting some shuteye with her dog Nugget, Perry keeps things interesting with her gaggle of pals.

Perry Ranks Her Past Lovers

James Corden visited Perry and brought along one of his most dreaded games from the Late, Late Show: Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts. The truth-or-dare style game forces players to either answer a question or eat an undesirable dish (think bird saliva and cow tongue).

Perry was so grossed out by the options that she bravely answered a request to rank three of her famous past loves — although she did throw a small fit when she realized she would have to answer.

The “Roar” singer listed Diplo as the worst sex partner, followed by Orlando Bloom. Snagging the top spot in Perry’s list was John Mayer. (To be fair to all the men involved, Perry did say that they were “all amazing lovers” but she had to rank them!)

Visit from Left Shark

While snoozing in bed and rocking rainbow-striped pajamas, the singer got a surprise wake-up call from one of her old friends: the famous Left Shark. Nugget barks at the creature, who starts to bust a move to Perry’s new single “Swish Swish” and gets tangled in the curtain surrounding her bed in the process. Perry takes a minute to take in the situation before standing on her bed and dancing along.

Katy Jamming Out to … Katy

The wake-up call wasn’t the only time the singer enjoyed her own music.

Perry insisted that her team play Witness while they made her breakfast (the live stream was in honor of the new album, after all). For the next hour, she sang and danced along to her latest tunes — an activity she said she typically does not do.

She Breaks Down in a Revealing Therapy Session

Perry also gave fans witness to an emotional and raw therapy session on Friday night, where she discussed everything from her past struggles with her identity to the real motivation behind her pixie haircut.

On Friday, her live stream included a tearful no-holds barred chat with Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh, host of Viceland’s The Therapist. Together, the two discussed Perry’s desire to be live a more genuine life — something she’d been inspired to do after drawing an “authenticity” card from a desk of inspirational Angel Cards in the wake of her last album, 2013’s Prism. 

The dichotomy is part of the reason Perry decided to get such a drastic pixie haircut.  “I didn’t want to look like Katy Perry anymore,” she said, adding that the haircut had provoked hate and abuse from users on social media.

Tears (and mascara) running down her face, Perry also opened up about her past battles with alcohol — admitting that she had struggled with thoughts of suicide in the past.

“I wrote a song about it,” she said. “I feel ashamed that I would have those thoughts, feel that low and that depressed.”

She added, “You can be right or you can be loved. I just want to be loved.”

Perry Discusses Her Past Cultural Appropriations

During a sit-down with Black Lives Matter activist DeRay Mckesson for his podcast, Pod Save the People, Perry opened up about her white privilege and troubled history with cultural appropriation.

Perry says she’s “made several mistakes,” pointing to her 2013 American Music Awards performance, where she dressed as a geisha.

“I didn’t know that I did it wrong until I heard people saying that I did it wrong,” Perry said. “It takes someone to say, out of compassion, out of love, ‘Hey, this is what the origin is.’”

Mckesson also asked Perry if she understood why people criticized her for the “This Is How We Do” video, in which she wears cornrows and eats watermelon, and she said she did.

“I have lots of white privilege,” Perry said.

Religion and Parents

Perry talked to RuPaul, who stopped by on his way to the Los Angeles Pride Parade, about her faith, saying she prays and talks to God “all the time.” She also shared she can speak in tongues.

“I haven’t done it for a long time and I’m not going to show everyone now,” the daughter of Pentecostal ministers said. “I would say it would be just like Christian’s version of chanting.”

She also paid tribute to her parents, saying that while they tend to “agree to disagree,” they “gave me integrity and character and I appreciate all that.”

Perry Tries to Put an End to Her “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift

Perry opened up about her feud with Swift during a candid interview on The Thrive Global Podcast, declaring that she’s ready to forgive the “Blank Space” singer.

“I am ready to let it go,” Perry told Thrive CEO Arianna Huffington. “I forgive her and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her … I love her, and I want the best for her. And I think she’s a fantastic songwriter.”

Perry added that she believes she and Swift could put their differences aside and be “representatives of strong women.”

“Maybe I don’t agree with everything she does and she doesn’t agree with everything I do, but I just really, truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion,” the singer said.

Overnight Domino Art

On Friday morning when Perry awoke, she was greeted by an artist who had spent the night working on a domino display in honor of her new album (as one does). Lily Hevesh, 18, confessed that it took her nine hours to create the intricate display – and it took all of 45 seconds to fall down and reveal the cover art for Witness after Perry pushed the first block into motion.
