The vandal who demolished Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been arrested, according to a new report.
James Otis was taken into custody by Los Angeles police in West Hollywood on Thursday morning, one day after he allegedly pulverized the landmark with a pick ax and sledgehammer, TMZ reports.

The protestor — who was hit with felony vandalism — had reportedly planned on holding a press conference later in the day before turning himself in, but authorities got to him before he could do so.
He cooperated with the officials as they made the arrest, according to the celebrity gossip site.

A man dressed as a construction worker was caught on video crushing the star at about 5:45 a.m. local time Wednesday. Otis later identified himself as the person in the video to Deadline, which originally published footage of the wrecking.
Otis said he intended to remove Trump’s star so he could put it up for auction to fundraise for the 11 women who claim the Republican presidential nominee sexually assaulted them.

But that plan apparently hit a snag once the star came apart after being slammed into over and over by the construction items.
Trump’s star was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007. It has been vandalized multiple times in recent months during his presidential campaign, including in January when someone spray painted a Nazi swastika onto it.

Then in July, an artist placed a plastic wall — complete with barbed wire — around the star to represent the wall Trump has proposed building along the border of the United States and Mexico.
