The FTSE 250 ended Tuesday 0.86pc lower at 18,988.02, dipping below 19,000 for the first time in six days.
European markets generally have had a slow day, with the Dax down 0.77pc to 11,959.58 and the CAC down 0.19pc to 5,002.43.
