People are comparing Trump’s speech to Bane’s in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – WMUR Manchester

President Donald Trump delivered his inauguration speech on Friday, and people are comparing his message to bad guy Bane’s from 2012 superhero flick “The Dark Knight Rises.”

“Today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one party to another — but we are transferring power from Washington, DC, and giving it back to you, the people,” the 45th President said to crowds at the National Mall.

Some say Trump’s message closely echoed what Bane said before his assault on Gotham City in the Christopher Nolan movie. The villain was played by actor Tom Hardy. Spoiler alert: Batman saves the day.

“We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people,” Bane said.
