Facebook now gives you more controls over what you want to see in your news … – IBNLive

New York: If you have unwillingly accepted friend requests from annoying acquaintances, who occupy unnecessary space in your Facebook news feed, you could now unfollow them without unfriending them.

Facebook has launched a News Feed settings tool to let you control posts that you do not want to see, the company said in a statement. After login, just click on the grey arrows, which appear on the top right corners of posts and give you the option of unfollowing a person.

If you see a story you’re not interested in or don’t want to see, you can tap the arrow in the top right of that story to hide it. When you hide a story you’ll have the option to ask to see less from that person or Page.

If you see a story you’re not interested in or don’t want to see, you can tap the arrow in the top right of that story to hide it.

If you choose to see less, you are then given the option to unfollow them if you don’t want to see any of their stories in your News Feed. You can always visit News Feed settings to see everything you’ve unfollowed and have the option to re-follow them.

This can help block out puppy and kitten pictures or selfies from that obsessive sharer.

It was never so easy to remove the brands and websites you have Liked on Facebook over the years.

The feature is available on desktop, and coming to mobile in the coming weeks.
