Kris Jenner‘s reaction to her ex Caitlyn‘s memoir is simply a difference of opinion, according to the the I Am Cait star.

Caitlyn, 66, sat down with Good Morning America on Monday to discuss her upcoming book The Secrets of My Life and was presented with a Keeping Up with the Kardashians clip of Kris, 61, reacting angrily to passages about herself.

“First of all, I feel like the book is extraordinarily honest,” Caitlyn said of her ex’s response. “It is my perspective, and obviously when you do a book like that there are different opinions. I have a lot of friends that know the truth and know what I’ve been through and know the whole situation.”

She added, “Hey, it’s a reality show, it is drama, but I’m just kind of sorry she went down that road. But she’s a good person, and we’ve had 23 great years together and raised wonderful, phenomenal kids.”

Caitlyn also elaborated on the statements she made in her interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday about growing distant from some members of her famous family.

“You know, when you go through something like this, you always hope for the best and it could not have been any better. My kids have been absolutely great,” she said. “Now, you’re certainly closer with some than you are with the others, but that’s always in [any] relationship.”

She continued, “But also, I always wonder — because I don’t see them as much as I used to see them, obviously, and so you wonder is that because of what I went through or is it because, you know what, I raised wonderful kids, from the beginning, entrepreneurial, be smart, this is a business, you’ve got to treat it like a business, and all of them have gone out, … have successful jobs, they travel all over the world, and that’s also the reason why I don’t see them as much as any parent.”

Caitlyn’s words on GMA Monday morning echoed what she told Sawyer on Friday: “Nobody calls that much,” she continues. “I mostly reach out to them. Obviously, the Jenner side calls more, but they all have their own lives.”
